Description

okay so this is my second go at some lighting and shading practice using some tips fro :iconforgottenwhisper959: i dont thing i did very good on the shadow under the ball thing but i will keep practicing lol :)and i think i added a little to much blue in the light bouncing off the floor card thing lol but thats what experiments and practice if for :)
Tips and critiques are always welcome

Sorry it took so long to reply, the biggest thing I see is the ball is floating above the surface of the table because there is not shadow to ground it. The reflected light is going right down to the bottom and it is way to intense in the shadow, almost giving off its own light. That area should be toned down a bit (shaded more). Also the highlight should have a bit more of a gradient to it, really sell the contour of the ball to the viewer. The cast shadow starts to spread out almost as if is a puddle of mud, more of a transition to blurry would be nice to see. These are just a few of the things that if worked on and practice will help make your ball believable. I hope that helped you out.
